Happy Wednesday! I visited some family on Monday and Tuesday and had so much fun. I didn’t get much reading done, but I managed to get through some books over the weekend, so here’s a quick update on what I’ve read, what I’m reading, and what I want to read next!

Sept ’21 Mid-Month Update
Hey everyone! It’s the middle of September and life has been crazy for me.
There are a lot of Jewish holidays in September and we’ve already made it through Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur already, so the big two are done! I’m actually heading up to Queens to visit some of my in-laws for another holiday, Sukkot, this weekend and I’m really excited. I know it’s going to be a good time, I’m just a little stressed to leave my two kitties at home alone.
In terms of reading, this month has been going pretty smoothly. I haven’t blown through books like I wish I could, but I don’t think I’m falling behind. I’m right where I’m supposed to be – I think. Anyways, here’s what I’ve read, what I’m reading, and what I want to read for the rest of September!
WWW Wednesday (9/15/21)
Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!
I’m here with another reading update for this week. I think I’m on track for this month, but I will post a mid-month update on Friday with what I’ve read, what I’m reading, and what I plan to read for the rest of the month. This week has been okay – I read what I needed to read, but I have had a chance to finish the book I’m reading right now. Even though I’m loving it, my time has been split up a lot, so I hope to finish it soon!
WWW Wednesday (9/8/21)
Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday! If you weren’t aware, it was Rosh Hashanah this past Tuesday and that means I had off to celebrate the New Year! A lot of stuff happened this past weekend, including introducing my new kitten to my resident cat, Maggie, which went as well as you could expect! (Hint: it didn’t go super well)
In terms of reading, this week was awesome! And I can’t wait for all the great books I plan to read this month!
WWW Wednesday (9/1/21)
It feels weird to be doing a WWW Wednesday on the first of the month, but don’t worry, I’ll be posting my August wrap up hopefully later today! This week has been really good, but very hectic, because I finished my monthly TBR and somehow managed to read another book on top of that! I don’t know the last time I finished my monthly TBR, but I’m so happy I finally did – now onto September’s TBR, which you can check out here if you haven’t seen it yet!
WWW Wednesday (8/25/2021)
Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve done a WWW Wednesday post, but I’m back again with another reading update! This reading week has been weird to say the least. I was surprisingly busy this past weekend and somehow managed to read on both of those days, but then on other, less busy days, I barely read anything. Make it make sense!
Anyways, to get to the point, I read books this week! Yay! And here’s what I read!
WWW Wednesday (8/4/21)
Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!
This past week, I didn’t get a lot of reading done, but I have started my August TBR and the one book I did read, and the book I’m currently reading, are so, so good! I’ve been enjoying more paranormal thrillers and I think August is going to end up a pretty spooky month for me, but we’ll see where the books take me. If you didn’t see my August TBR post, you can check it out here!
Here’s my reading update for this week!
WWW Wednesday (7/28/21)
I have managed to read and finish a lot of books this month, more than I thought I would, and I’m pretty proud of myself. Even within this last week I read three books and have started on my fourth. Usually, I’m lucky to finish one or two, so I’m happy with my reading overall this week!
What I’m Currently Reading and Watching: Part VIII
It’s been a month since I last did this, so I thought it would be a fun comparison to see what I’m currently reading and watching! My show watching has decreased a lot and my reading has gone up, but I still managed to start watching some new stuff! So yay!
WWW Wednesday (7/21/21)
This week has been not great for me. A lot of sad, stressful things happened in a short amount of time and I’m still not recovered from it. On Monday morning, we woke up to find out our fish had died. I gave my fiance that fish as a present 4 years ago and he was with us through everything. He was a blood parrot cichlid named Smiley and he was so lively. He would swim up to greet you and do tricks, like flipping upside down for us. We are both so sad that he passed. And that was just the icing on the shit week I’ve been having. I won’t even go into the other stuff I’ve been dealing with, but I’ll summarize with lots of tears and lots of arguing. Not fun.
I’m going on and on about life. You’re not here for that. It’s sad because Sunday started off great and then turned for the worst and it’s just gotten more and more awful since then. But anyways, here’s my reading update for this week!
WWW Wednesday (7/14/21)
I can’t believe it’s Wednesday. These past two days have felt like two weeks with everything going on and my head is spinning. I looked at some wedding venues last night and I think we found the place we want to host our wedding! And already I’m having stress dreams that the place we want to book is full for the day we want lol. This past week has been busy for reading too and here’s a reading update for you!
WWW Wednesday (7/7/2021)
Hey everybody! Happy Wednesday! I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend, for all my U.S. friends out there, and a wonderful weekend for my non-U.S. friends. If you were wondering how my July TBR has been going so far, then you’re in luck! Here’s a reading update for you!
What I’m Currently Reading and Watching: Part VII
I feel like I haven’t given an update on this in a WHILE, so today, we’re starting this week off nice and chill with a reading and watching update!
This past weekend has been hectic with friends staying over and meeting more friends for dinner the next day. I also dropped some serious cash entertaining friends and my poor wallet is crying. Anyone else cringe seeing their check after a night out or after planning one for friends?
I also managed to finish the book I was reading, Ruinsong, and the review should be up for that tomorrow! But for now, here’s what I’m currently reading and watching!
WWW Wednesday (6/23/21)
It’s been a little while since I’ve done a WWW Wednesday and for once, I actually have an update! Be sure to check out my reviews on the books I recently finished and let me know what you’ve been reading recently.
WWW Wednesday’s is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and all it involves is answering three simple questions:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
WWW Wednesday (5/19/21)
Well, I moved! I’m finally moved in and while I’m still unpacking, it’s now mostly boxes and some remaining things to get in. With moving week, I did not get any reading done. I was really hoping I could get through at least one book, but no. I got about 30% in to one book, but that was it before the chaos began. Anyways, here’s a reading update for this past week!
WWW Wednesday (5/12/21)
It’s moving week for me! I’m moving this weekend so the past few days have been very busy. Surprisingly, I’ve been able to get some reading done and so, here’s an update on what I’ve read in the past week!

WWW Wednesday (4/28/21)
It’s the middle of the week and time for another round of WWW Wednesday! I didn’t get much reading done this weekend since I spent the majority of it packing my bookshelves and selling the stuff that I didn’t want to come with me. But, I managed to finish some books at least and start new ones!

Back again with another WWW Wednesday! I’m really liking these posts and it’s a lot of fun (and a little less mental work every week). Not much has happened this week, so not much of an update, although I did change my plan for what I need to read next.

WWW Wednesday
This is my first time participating in WWW Wednesday but I thought it was fitting for the week I’ve had! I haven’t finished reading anything this whole week and a half due to stress and other things, like buying a house. So here’s a small update.
What I’m Currently Reading and Watching: Part V
Life has been awful for me recently. My brother in law got into a car accident and totaled his car. He’s pretty beat up from it too and has been to the hospital twice. My aunt has COVID and I’m freaking out. My fiance, his family, and I had a COVID scare last week too. Meanwhile, we’re house hunting which is emotionally exhausting and my poor heart can’t take it anymore.
It’s been a doozy.
So I’m keeping it light here with what I’m currently reading and watching!
November 2020 Mid-Month Update
It’s that time of the month! Here is my mid-month update with all the books I read, the books I’m reading, and the books I plan to read for the month of November!
May 2020 Mid-Month Update
May has been a very good month so far for my TBR! I’ve currently read 7/10 books I wanted to read this month, which is insane for me. Because I’ve been reading so much I decided to add some extra books to my TBR. We’ll see if I can actually get through all of them this month, but I have hope I’ll get through most!
I also wanted to provide an update – because I have been reading more and have more content, I am going to try posting five times a week, Monday through Friday. This is a change from my normal blogging timeline, but I wanted to give it a try. If it doesn’t work, I’m going to go back to my typical posting schedule, but if I can maintain it, then we’re heading towards five days a week!
What I read
For the books I’ve read, I blew through some of them it wasn’t even funny. I’ve read two duologies, The Bone Charmer/The Bone Thief by Breeana Shields and The Storm Crow/The Crow Rider by Kalyn Josephson so far and will have finished another duology by the end of the month! Reviews will be up for all of these books at some point in the coming days. After reading Forest of Souls (the eARC), I realized I probably should have waited to read and review it. I received a physical ARC of the book this past Saturday and I think I’m going to do a reread of the physical book to make sure my thoughts are in order. I find that sometimes I’ll rate a book differently based on format (especially for ARCs) and I really want to give this book a fair chance, especially since it has huge Wicked Saints vibes and there were moments I was freaking out about. So, review for that may be delayed. But for the most part, I adored all of these books and I can’t wait for you to read my thoughts on them!
What I’m reading
I’m currently almost finished with Thorn by Intisar Khanani and it is so good! I’m buddy reading this book with my friend Grace and I’m really enjoying it. It’s a Goose Girl retelling, which I’ve never read, but I like it! Race the Sands by Sarah Beth Durst is a bit of a struggle. It’s not a bad book, but I am definitely not in the mood to read it right now – maybe I’ll have to stick it back on the TBR pile for a while. I started reading The Boundless and I am almost 50% through. I wanted to make sure I had enough time to read for the blog tour and have my post ready for June. So far, I’m really liking the sequel and can’t wait to see what happens next. I know that this is a duology, so I’m wondering who Selah is going to end up with, if she ends up with anyone, and if she’s going to be able to get home to her father soon. There are so many unanswered questions!
What I plan to read
I’ve added five books to my TBR (not including the two I added and I am currently reading) since I’m getting through books very quickly. I haven’t read this much since January 2019 when I read almost twenty books in the month. It was awesome! I’m really happy I get to read books that have been on my TBR for forever, as well as new books for review or for fun. I managed to win a copy of Empire of Gold (City of Brass #3) from Goodreads too and now I have to read the other two books. Why did I enter the giveaway when I hadn’t read the other two books? – because I never win giveaways so I didn’t think it would happen.
But here we are! And now I have motivation to read the first book, The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty. I actually have a signed copy that I received for free at BookCon 2018 as part of the VIP package. I got City of Brass and The Poppy War by R.F. Kuang – which I haven’t read either yet, though I’ve heard they are AMAZING!
So here is my mid-month update! I’ve currently read 7 seven books, I am reading 3 books, and I want to read 7 books. I’m sure I won’t get to all of them, but it’s good to have strong goals, right?
How is your TBR reading going? Any books that surprised you?

NetGalley Update: April 2020
So I wanted to update my NetGalley waitlist/stats since the last one went up end of January. I have been reading a lot more since being forced to work at home. Less commute time = more reading time.
With all that reading time meant I had to request more titles too! So here is my updated NetGalley waiting list 🙂
So far, I have been approved for these titles:
Declined on these titles:
*Cries softly at all of the books I got rejected for these past two months, including Deck of Omens which was actually devastating! Especially since I was approved for an eARC of The Devouring Grey. Okay, I’m not going to cry! Moving on!
And still waiting to know about these titles:
I would be so excited to read any of these, but I’m anxiously checking my inbox to see if I get approved for Addie LaRue because if I don’t, I will cry. No, I will sob. This is a unicorn for me and getting to read it early would probably give me a heart attack from pure joy. So fingers crossed that I can cry happy tears instead of sad ones.
At the moment I am currently reading Shielded by KayLynn Flanders and will be reading The Vanishing Deep by Astrid Scholte next.
From my last update I have read:
Lobizona by Romina Garber
Of Silver and Shadow by Jennifer Gruenke
Night Spinner by Addie Thorley
Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
Sensational by Jodie Lynn Zdrok
The Raven and the Dove by Kaitlyn Davis (review to come!)
Aurora Rising and Sensational were two “overdue” books that I had sitting in my cue for well over three months and finally finished them! I had Aurora waiting for about a year and Sensational was about five months – but I completed them and I am somewhat up to date on my reading! Yay!
I have linked my reviews of each book that I have read for you to check out – these six books were AMAZING! I can’t wait to continue reading the new books I have and hopefully, read some of the others I’m waiting for.
What is a title you’re anxiously hoping to be approved/waiting to read? The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is by far my top choice but, if I could request it, I would also die to read Harrow the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir.
You may or may not have seen that I am co-hosting a huge giveaway through my blog and my friend Alexa’s blog, Writing the Universe. I will link the post to enter to win ARCs, books, and ApollyCon swag! You must enter through the Rafflecopter in order to count your entry. Thanks for looking, good luck!
