WWW Wednesday (8/25/2021)

Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve done a WWW Wednesday post, but I’m back again with another reading update! This reading week has been weird to say the least. I was surprisingly busy this past weekend and somehow managed to read on both of those days, but then on other, less busy days, I barely read anything. Make it make sense!

Anyways, to get to the point, I read books this week! Yay! And here’s what I read!

What I’m Currently Reading and Watching: Part VI

This week has been so stressful for me. I feel like so much is going on and there’s not enough time to get it all done, so it’s just swirling around me endlessly.

Also, I’m packing, so that’s fun. So to keep things light and to ease some of the stress, today I’m sharing what I’m currently reading and watching!

READING

I’m about 40% of the way through Sky Breaker and I’m starting Spells Trouble today, so I’m hoping I can read them quickly! Sky Breaker isn’t living up to what I wanted. I remember liking Night Spinner, the first book, but this one jumped right back in so I was very confused. And the main character went from being this strong warrior to a passive character in the first book and has now turned into a paranoid control freak. She’s kind of irritating me and I’m not enjoying this book at all. Hopefully Spells Trouble is better.

WATCHING

Shadow and Bone (TV Series 2021– ) - IMDb    Modern Family - Saison 6 La saison 6 de la série Modern Family est disponible en français sur Netfl… | Modern family, Modern family season 5, Watch modern family

I watched a few episodes of Shadow and Bone, but I want to be able to sit down and binge it, so I’m waiting until I move and things calm down. In the meantime, I have been steadily getting through Modern Family and I’m now on Season 6, almost to Season 7. This is kind of my comfort show – I tend to watch it when I’m feeling stressed and just want to distract myself from life, so I’ve been watching it a lot recently.

Besides that I also watch YouTube when I’m bored or listen to podcasts. Especially if I’m in a reading slump or not enjoying the book I’m currently reading.

What are you currently reading and watching? Any recommendations for what I should read or watch next?

Currently Reading & Watching: Part III

October has been a crazy month and while I’ve been reading a lot, I’m also doing a lot of work on the book tours, my actual job, and other adult things. You know, like cooking, cleaning, crying because I’m stressed – the usual!

Anyways, I wanted something light to post today, so here’s what I’m currently reading and watching!

What I’m Currently Reading + Watching

My reading has lagged since starting a blog tour company so I’m doing something a little different today. Here’s what I’m currently reading and watching!

Reading:

Right now I’m currently reading –

I’m about 50% through The City of Brass right now and since I finished A Wicked Magic and Splinters of Scarlet, I’m going to start two new books. Ignite the Sun is another NetGalley read I need to get off my list and The Shadows Between Us is a fun, short read I’ve been wanting to get through for a while.

Watching:

www.gstatic.com/tv/thumb/tvbanners/11232067/p11...    Zoey 101 (TV Series 2005–2008) - IMDb    Hannah Montana (TV Series 2006–2011) - IMDb    Cursed (TV Series 2020– ) - IMDb

My boyfriend and I are currently on season 3 of Legend of Korra. This is a rewatch for me, but it’s his first time watching the show. So far he really likes it and I’m just happy to have someone who understands my obsession with this show!

I’ve been on a nostalgia kick recently so I’ve been rewatching old shows I loved as a kid/teen. Currently, I’m on season 1 of Zoey101 and on season 4 of Hannah Montana. It feels so weird to rewatch these shows and have the memories of their premiere or sitting down in my parent’s home to watch with my little sisters. Makes me miss my childhood a little bit.

I’m debating if I want to start watching Cursed. I’ve been hearing some controversial things about the book and the show. Part of me wants to watch to know why, the other part wants to avoid it at all costs. If anyone has started watching the show or read the book, let me know if I should give this a try or not.

Currently Reading: March 2020

In times of quarantines, it can be hard to keep yourself entertained, even with all the extra free time. Sometimes especially because of all the free time. Thankfully I have a giant library full of books I haven’t read yet that I need to. Plus YouTube 🙂 With all this extra time, I have decided to tackle my TBR and read some books I’ve been meaning to read for a while now.

These are books that I’m currently reading and some books I plan to start ASAP.

I’m about 25% of the way through this book and not sure how I feel yet. It definitely has action to it, but for whatever reason it’s not keeping my attention well. This could be an issue with being stuck inside all day or just a reading slump, but I’m holding no judgements against this one. I only hope I can get absorbed quickly cause this is a thick book!

I am almost 50% of the way through this book and it’s dragging. This book has middle book syndrome painted all over it but my friend over at Writing the Universe has just finished it and LOVED it. (Link goes to her review) So, I’m going to keep going and get to the juicy bits at the end.

I am planning on starting this once I finish either one of the two books before it. I’ve seen great things about this book and can’t wait to find out what makes it so popular. I received this as an eARC from NetGalley, so I’m excited to review it!

And finally, this is next on my TBR list to read. I won it in a giveaway on Goodreads, and managed to snag a manuscript at YallFEST, so I have to read it soon! I love the cover and it sounds so good. Doesn’t seem like a long read either so I hope to dive in quickly!

What are you doing during social distancing/self quarantining? Are you catching up on your TBR, rewatching your favorite shows/movies, or learning a new skill? Let me know in the comments!

Update: Currently Reading

I feel like 2020 is moving so fast yet so slow, how are we already two full weeks in!? It’s crazy.

One of the things I hope to change in 2020 is how much I read – cause right now, it’s not a lot! I want to finish more books than my current rate (which is none) and get back on track with everything.

Currently, I am reading a few books and I just need to find time to finish them. Wishful thinking, I know, but a girl can dream!

Book #1: Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan

40126121. sy475

I’m almost half way through this title and it’s a solid 200 pages left to go. I just need a good chunk of time to sit down, bang it out, and decompress. I think I’m scared to finish it (especially after book 1’s ending) cause it’s really good and I don’t want it to end! I find myself avoiding reading a book if I’m really enjoying it and don’t want to be heartbroken or sad once I finish it. So, hopefully I can kick it into high gear and finally finish it since I’ve been reading this since November.

Book #2: Sensational by Jodie Lynn Zdork

Sensational (Spectacle, #2)

So I adored the first book in this series, but reading this title I’m not in the mood for a historical fiction right now. The book still has the same great writing and interesting characters as book 1, but I’m just not in the mood for a historical fiction, so this one is on the back burner until I feel like I’m ready to finish it. Until then, it will remain at 10% finished.

Book #3: Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin

42595554

So this is a Macbeth retelling and as a HUGE Shakespeare nerd this is next on my TBR (also it’s on my NetGalley reading list and I’m 3 months overdue so I gotta read this ASAP). I’m hoping I can hop between this and Ruthless Gods to finish both in a timely manner (again, wishful thinking, I know). If all goes well, these will be my first two reviews of 2020!

I’m so excited to get my 2020 reading kicked into gear – what are you currently reading?
