Sometimes, I see a book cover or a cool title and just click “Buy” before I can think about it. Okay, more like every time, but who can blame me? There’s so many interesting books out there and when I get an email saying they’re free to download, who wouldn’t just casually swing over and get them?
I know I can’t stop myself.
So here’s a mini haul of some of the most recent e-books I’ve purchased/downloaded from Amazon!

This isn’t the full amount of books, only the ones I remembered to put in a pile, and all of these were purchased from B&N. So there are no spoilers for OwlCrate or Fairyloot. I didn’t include any ARCs that I received or any e-books I got that month either, so this is basically just a B&N book hauls post!

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!
I’m here with another reading update for this week. I think I’m on track for this month, but I will post a mid-month update on Friday with what I’ve read, what I’m reading, and what I plan to read for the rest of the month. This week has been okay – I read what I needed to read, but I have had a chance to finish the book I’m reading right now. Even though I’m loving it, my time has been split up a lot, so I hope to finish it soon!
One perk of being a Penguin Teen Partner is getting access to their titles early, usually through NetGalley, which means I get quite a few books to read ahead of time. I love being able to read the books early and help promote them come release day. Most of the ARC reviews I post are from books I read through NetGalley and without it, I wouldn’t have been given the chance to read and review them early. If you haven’t check out NetGalley yet, I highly recommend it!

It feels weird to be doing a WWW Wednesday on the first of the month, but don’t worry, I’ll be posting my August wrap up hopefully later today! This week has been really good, but very hectic, because I finished my monthly TBR and somehow managed to read another book on top of that! September is an interesting month because while I have some ARCs I need to read, it is way more manageable than August. August and October are my busiest ARC months, so September is my break from the craziness. So without further ado, here are some of the books I want to read in September!
I’m a little late for my mid-month update, but oh well, I have some updates to share and it’s close enough!
I’ve somehow managed to be on track/a little ahead of my TBR and I’m actually shocked. I have been reading some really good books and trying to prevent myself from getting into a horrible slump, so I have been racing through certain books. Fingers crossed I can actually make it out of my TBR alive!
It’s been eight months since the last time I’ve done this and that’s enough time to rack up some books on Amazon! I love taking part in free or very cheap e-book deals and often times, that means I end up with a lot of e-books on my kindle. Since it’s been a while, I thought I would show you some of the books that Amazon made me buy!
As we enter into August, fall and winter titles are beginning to pop up and my TBR grows exponentially longer! So I decided to make a list of some of the books publishing from September – December 2021 that I am really excited for!
I tried to choose my top books, but there are so many others, especially in September and October, that I couldn’t include because I wasn’t trying to have 50+ books on this list lol So if you don’t see your favorite, it’s probably on my list, but feel free to leave a comment if you think I’ll like it!

Here’s my reading update for this week!
Well, it’s the end of July. How? I have no idea. Time is an illusion and I’m just coasting through it at this point.
With a new month comes a new monthly TBR and this month is all about ARCs. I have so many ARCs I need to read for August that it feels like I won’t have time to enjoy any other books on my TBR. But, I have some awesome blog tours I’m participating in this month and I’m going to try and incorporate some additional books if I can!
I have managed to read and finish a lot of books this month, more than I thought I would, and I’m pretty proud of myself. Even within this last week I read three books and have started on my fourth. Usually, I’m lucky to finish one or two, so I’m happy with my reading overall this week!
Another month, another mid-month update! July has been a pretty good month reading wise, but not just in how much I’ve read, but the books themselves. It’s rare that I have a month with no DNFs or low ratings, so to have so many amazing books read in July is really lucky. I’m hoping this good luck continues!

I can’t believe it’s Wednesday. These past two days have felt like two weeks with everything going on and my head is spinning. I looked at some wedding venues last night and I think we found the place we want to host our wedding! And already I’m having stress dreams that the place we want to book is full for the day we want lol. This past week has been busy for reading too and here’s a reading update for you!
Does anyone else create wish lists so when someone asks what you want for your birthday or what you want to trade, you can just slide them this list and not have to spend forever thinking about what you want? Cause I do! Today, I thought it would be fun to show what some of those wishlist books are – but there’s a lot. So I’m just going to do a few of them.

It’s the end of the month, which means I have to think about what I’m going to read next month. This TBR was actually really hard! I’ve noticed my motivation to read has been slipping, so I had to balance what I need to read this month and what I want to read. And I think I’ve found a good balance.

My TBR is currently a burning trash pile filled with books I’ve been wanting to read for years, as well as new books I keep stacking on top.

I’m technically reading two books right now, A Dark and Hollow Star and I’m also reading When We Were Infinite by Kelly Loy Gilbert right now. I’m hoping to finish both of these by the weekend, so I can get started on some blog tour books that I need to read before the end of the month! I’m also doing some non-fiction reading too, so I feel like I have even less time to read and review books right now.
Every time I think I’m going to finish my TBR and have time to read extra books, it doesn’t happen. In March, I was halfway through the month and was doing so well, then our offer was accepted on a house and I had zero time and motivation to read.
So for April, even though there are so many books I want to put down on my TBR, I’m sticking with nine. Three are for blog tours, five are all NetGalley books I need to read and review, and one is a TBR book my friends are dying for me to read. If I have extra time available, I am absolutely reading other books as well, but for now I’m going to be realistic. Most likely I’ll be busy with packing and moving and unpacking, so it’s better to keep my expectations low.
We are almost to the end of March and I’m already planning my April TBR. I have so many books I want to purchase and read, so here’s my current TBR list for April with books I want to buy!
I have been working my butt off to get through the NetGalley books I have and get my score up above 80%. When I started I was at 70% and stayed there for months as more and more books were approved. I recently (finally) hit 80% on my account and have worked to get below 20 books for so long.
I feel like this year is just flying by. We’re already almost three months into the year, we’ve hit the 1 year mark since the pandemic began (for my state), and it’s already the middle of March! Time is absolutely flying. So to slow things down a little, here’s a mid-month update on what I read, what I’m reading, and what I want to read for the rest of March!
On Saturday I went to B&N because I had a $250 VISA gift card I won from work and I went wild! I bought 10 books and still had money left over on the gift card. I haven’t done a large book haul in a while and all of the books I bought are ones I have been dying to read.
It feels so weird to post my TBR for next month on the 26th, but since there’s only two more days of February, I think it has to go up early.
I’m so proud of how much I read last month, I almost got caught up on my ARC TBR (which is the first time I can say this in months) so not much is being carried over into March thankfully. Here’s what I plan to read in March 2021.
I love looking through books on Goodreads to add to my Want To Read shelf – especially since I’ll occasionally go through it and just put books in my cart from there to buy. And with so many books being published and announced each week, it’s so hard to remember which ones I was interested in.

I’m back again with another collab with Alexa @ Writing the Universe! Today, we are going over five books we bought solely based on their covers and rating whether we would buy them or not. I know, I know, you shouldn’t judge a book based on its cover, but if you saw what books we’re talking about today, you would understand these are a necessity. I am a total sucker for a gorgeous book cover and if a book is pretty and fits in a genre I like to read, I will buy it. So today, here are some books I bought solely based on their covers, and Alexa’s opinion on whether she would do the same!
Oh my gosh, I can’t believe 2021 is in THREE WEEKS. That is way too soon for comfort! I can’t believe the disaster that was 2020 is almost over and while I’m so excited for it to not be 2020 anymore, I’m also terrified of what’s to come.

Barnes & Noble has a Black Friday sale every year and has special signed books they put on sale! I usually wake up early and go with my friend Emma so we can buy the books once the stores opens. Last year they changed it to an entire weekend event (probably to avoid morning crowd) and that means it’s a little more relaxed. I’m still probably going to call and ask to put books on hold if possible and make my way there tomorrow! Or on my birthday.

I made my way over to Barnes & Noble this past weekend to pick up some new releases that I have been dying to read, so I thought I would show you what I got!
With only a week left in the month, I thought it would be fun to hype up some of my favorite September releases that I think people should put on their TBR! This is mostly going to be debut or not as well know releases, so no Cassie Clare or any other sequels/spin offs.
Some of these I haven’t read yet, but want to, so I’ll mark which ones I have and have not read. For the unread books, I’ll be putting in the official synopsis!

This month is full of books I need to read for blog tours and for review before publication. It’s kind of stressful, but I’m also really enjoying the books I’ve read, so it’s not a chore for me. Here’s some of the books I read this month, the books I’m currently reading, and the books I plan to read next!
I feel like this is definitely exposing myself, but I also need a post for today, so I’m going to be going over all of the *upcoming ARCs I need to read.
Granted, I’m not reading these all at once. These are just the total number of ARCs I need to read and get through *at some point* – though I do have a lot of these on my immediate TBR.
I am going to be continuing ARC August into ARC September, because I have so many more ARCs to read, it’s not even funny. A lot of these are ones I requested and they all just happened to be fulfilled at once, so here I am, panicking.
But, without further ado, here are the books I am going to read for September!
I love doing mid-month updates because it allows me to not only see my progress, but think back on the books I read that month. I still can’t believe I’ve read as much as I have and I think I might actually finish my TBR this month! I keep surprising myself every time I set a high TBR, thinking I couldn’t possibly finish all those books.
August and September are my crazy months due to all of the ARCs I received from publishers, giveaways, and what I just currently had. I’m hoping things calm down quickly so I can read books that I have been dying to read (like Kingdom of Copper!) but just don’t have the time right now. Anyways, here’s what I’ve read, what I’m currently reading, and what I plan to read next!
I have a very optimistic TBR for August. Three of these books I need to read in order to read the sequels, which either come out in September. The other eight books are books that come out in August/September that I need to read. And these aren’t even all of the September releases. I left three end of September releases for later and I’ll just have to read and get through at the beginning of next month.
I don’t know if I’ve had a TBR of more than nine books before, so this should be interesting. The last three can always be read beginning of September if it comes down to that, but I want to try and get these read as soon as possible.
I ended up with a longer TBR for August due to one thing – the Penguin Teen Influencer program. I signed up and got in (yay!) but when I requested the books I wanted, I didn’t think I would get ALL of them. I requested three books for each month, August, September, and October. And in one afternoon received six of those nine books in my inbox. It was awesome yet terrifying.
See, I’m used to requesting more than normal because I’m usually declined for like 80-90% of them, so I didn’t expect to have six additional books fall into my lap. Plus I received Legendborn from the publisher and won Traitor in a giveaway. Ha ha, I’m freaking out.

I feel myself slowing down this month. I can’t seem to finish books as quickly as I usually would and I’m stressed. Especially since I have to read two books by next week for a blog tour. After that though, I can read what I want – so hopefully once the stress is gone I can read what I feel like and get back into the swing of things . . . hopefully.
Reviews for these should be up or coming up soon, but I liked all of them so far! Especially Crave by Tracy Wolff and Wicked As You Wish by Rin Chupeco. I’m on such a fantasy kick right now I can’t seem to branch off!
I’m about 25% into A Wicked Magic by Sasha Laurens and just starting The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty and Spinters of Scarlet by Emily Bain Murphy. I’m doing a tour for Splinters of Scarlet and was supposed to do a tour for A Wicked Magic, but that fell through. Nonetheless, I’m obviously still going to review A Wicked Magic on the day I said I would, which will be Monday! I hope to finish these two soon, so fingers crossed I can get my two review books done in time!
Some of these are a mix of review books, like Ignite the Sun by Hanna C. Howard, Hush by Dylan Farrow, and To Sleep In A Sea of Stars by Christopher Paolini – while the others are just for fun! I’m trying to mix it up during the month so I get a good balance of requested/required reads and for fun reads each month. Not to say that I don’t want to read my review books (I wouldn’t have asked for them if I didn’t), I just like to add some other books that are more flexible. So if I end up not in the mood or mindset to read them, I can push them aside guilt free!

June was a good reading month for me! Although I didn’t necessarily follow my intended TBR. I’ve put Chain of Gold by Cassandra Clare on my TBR for the past three months and it just hasn’t happened. I find myself getting approved or buddy reading other books, so it will have to wait for now.
I only ended up reading half of the books I wanted to read and one of those books ended up on this months TBR. I totally ignored Touch of Gold and Curse of Gold by Annie Sullivan, which I shouldn’t do. I do need to read those soon. Maybe I’ll try to fit at least Touch of Gold into this month’s TBR so I can read Curse of Gold before release.
Most of these are books I received for review or I need to read in order to review other books. A Wicked Magic is for a book tour, They Wish They Were Us is a buddy read, Warmaidens, Ignite the Sun, and Hush are all NetGalley reviews I need to read. I hope I can get through all of these and stick to my TBR but we’ll see. I tend to abandon my TBR apparently.
But, I still want to continue my reading streak and get all of these books (and then some) read before the end of July!

May was an amazing reading month for me! I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to read that much ever again, especially since I’m moving!
My reading habits may be on a downward trend from there, but I’m hopeful that I can get through at least five books in June. Here are the eight books that I want to read this month, if all goes well. Two of these are NetGalley books that I need to get through. Two are ARCs I received in a trade that I want to read. And the rest are for fun!
It feels good to include some books that I want to read for fun rather than an “obligation” although, can you really call it that? It’s still so much fun! I added City of Brass on there because I won the third book so I need to get reading! I don’t currently own the second book so I’m not sure if I’m going to order a physical copy or get an e-copy yet. Either way, I’m finally reading this series.
I’m so nervous to move! By the time this post goes up I’ll be moving TOMORROW!!! One thing I am most worried about is losing my reading/posting motivation, so if anyone has any recommendations for that, I would greatly appreciate them!
I’m also worried that my writing habits will decrease too. I haven’t written a word in the past week and with the stress of moving, it may be a whole month before I can even sit down and write again. But I’ll try to write as much as possible before moving day.

OH SOMETHING MAGICAL HAPPENED TODAY! If you follow Sabaa Tahir or have read An Ember in the Ashes, then you know the final book is coming out at the end of the year and THE COVER HAD JUST BEEN REVEALED!!
The title we have all been waiting for has finally been revealed. AEITA #4 is officially called:
A Sky Beyond the Storm
YO I AM HYPED!! This book comes out in December 1st, 2020 – which also happens to be my birthday, so I am extra excited!
If anyone needs me I’m going to be rereading the first 3 books in preparation for the final and hopefully my heart won’t be too broken. But with Sanaa’s stories, we all know we’re going to be crushed.

I feel like 2020 is moving so fast yet so slow, how are we already two full weeks in!? It’s crazy.
One of the things I hope to change in 2020 is how much I read – cause right now, it’s not a lot! I want to finish more books than my current rate (which is none) and get back on track with everything.
Currently, I am reading a few books and I just need to find time to finish them. Wishful thinking, I know, but a girl can dream!
Book #1: Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan
I’m almost half way through this title and it’s a solid 200 pages left to go. I just need a good chunk of time to sit down, bang it out, and decompress. I think I’m scared to finish it (especially after book 1’s ending) cause it’s really good and I don’t want it to end! I find myself avoiding reading a book if I’m really enjoying it and don’t want to be heartbroken or sad once I finish it. So, hopefully I can kick it into high gear and finally finish it since I’ve been reading this since November.
Book #2: Sensational by Jodie Lynn Zdork
So I adored the first book in this series, but reading this title I’m not in the mood for a historical fiction right now. The book still has the same great writing and interesting characters as book 1, but I’m just not in the mood for a historical fiction, so this one is on the back burner until I feel like I’m ready to finish it. Until then, it will remain at 10% finished.
Book #3: Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin
So this is a Macbeth retelling and as a HUGE Shakespeare nerd this is next on my TBR (also it’s on my NetGalley reading list and I’m 3 months overdue so I gotta read this ASAP). I’m hoping I can hop between this and Ruthless Gods to finish both in a timely manner (again, wishful thinking, I know). If all goes well, these will be my first two reviews of 2020!

I always find myself saying I’m going to read certain books and then I never actually follow through with what I say I’m going to do. So here is my HOPE – I want to read all of these books, but we’ll see. Also, enjoy my comments with these titles, I thought it would add a bit of pizzazz.
Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim
*** I’m already more than halfway through this book, I just put it down to review some other titles, but I’m going to finish it this month because it is amazing!!!
Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
This book is so beautiful and while I wasn’t a fan of Illuminae, I’ve heard nothing but amazing reviews – so I’m excited!
House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig
I have been putting off reading this for so freaking long, even though the ARC is currently sitting on my shelf because – idk! I just need to read it. Why am I scared?
The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab
I will probably adore this book, I just need to pick it up and read it in a day. That’s how this works, right?
Nevernight by Jay Kristoff
I will probably never hear the end of this, but yes, I have not read this book yet. I will read it, and hopefully that will happen in May! Also, do not come for me. I’m taking my time, I know!!
Sightwitch by Susan Dennard
LOVED the first two books and I know I need to read this before Bloodwitch – so I’m going to read it!

Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan
I’m still in shock I haven’t read this book yet, but I’m going to! I just might wait until after a few other, not so heart wrenching books have been read.
All right! This is my TBR for the month of May. This will most likely, actually definitely, change during the course of the month. That’s just how it goes sometimes. I hope to read all, if not most, of these though. I guess we’ll see which ones I get to during my May Wrap Up! Stay tuned for some more unrealistic goals!
