My TBR for July was pretty ambitious. I had twelve books on there and I got through 10.5 of them! While I didn’t finish Igniting Darkness by Robin LaFevers before the end of the month, I hope to finish it soon because I love this duology! (And no, I didn’t read the original trilogy. I know! I know! I need to!)
With everything going on in my life, I’m so proud of myself for how much I read and getting through all the required reading, and even some optional read I put on the list if I had extra time, which I did! I call July a win and here’s what I read!

For my required reading, 8 out of the 10 books needed to get read in July either for blog tours, or it was author requested, or just because it released in July and I wanted to get it read! The other 2 books, A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire, and Red, White & Royal Blue, were optional “if I had time reads” and I did! While I didn’t finish Igniting Darkness, that was another “if I had time read” and I got almost halfway through the book before the month finished.
For August, my TBR is a bit more strict. I kind of over-committed myself ARC wise, especially on NetGalley. Being a Penguin Teen Partner is great for getting advance copies, but not so great if you request too many – like I did. So I will be working my way through those.
I’m starting to get to the point where, while I love getting to review books early, I kind of want to take a break from reading so many ARCs. I used to be lucky to have any ARCs on my reading list and now I feel like my TBRs are almost 100% ARCs and it’s overwhelming. There are a lot of book series and books in general I’ve put on the back burner to get through these advanced copies and now I’m getting burnt out. I might stop requesting so many and just allow myself to read and enjoy some of the books on my TBR and currently on my bookshelf.
But anyways, here’s what I read in July and if you want to see what I plan to read in August, you can check out my TBR post here.
