Sept ’21 TBR

Hey everyone! Since it’s the end of the month, I’m back again with my TBR for next month and there are some fun ones on the list!

September is an interesting month because while I have some ARCs I need to read, it is way more manageable than August. August and October are my busiest ARC months, so September is my break from the craziness. So without further ado, here are some of the books I want to read in September!

Review: This Poison Heart

Hey guys! I’m so excited to be able to share my review This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron! I loved Cinderella is Dead and was so excited for this new series! Last year, I binge read Cinderella is Dead  in one sitting (took me about 2.5 hours) because I couldn’t put the book down. It was so, so good and when I saw that Kalynn had a new series coming out, I was so excited!!! Surprisingly enough, I somehow managed to receive an ARC of the book, but it arrived a few days before release day, so I didn’t get a chance to read it in time. Then, I got the Owlcrate version of the book and put it on my July TBR! Well, July turned into August and two months post release, my review is finally here! Yay!

I received an ARC from Bloomsbury for This Poison Heart in exchange for an honest review. I read the finished copy so this review is a spoiler free, honest review and all thoughts and feelings are my own!

Let’s Talk Bookish – Having A Blogger Identity Crisis

I was scrolling through my blog feed this morning, unsure of what to post for today, when I came across this post – Let’s Talk Bookish. Let’s Talk Bookish is a weekly meme hosted by Rukky @ Eternity Books and Dani @ Literary Lion. This week’s topic is all about having a blogger identity crisis!

I’ve never done one of these before, but it was an interesting topic I couldn’t pass up on!

Review: Burden Falls

Another day, another thriller novel review! But this one is just thriller, no paranormal/fantasy thriller today. I know, you’re so sad! I promise you though – this book is so good. And terrifying. I was dumb enough to read this late into the night and ended up finishing it at 2am. Yeah, not a great idea. But I can definitely say that this book will creep you out and scare the heck out of you. So, let’s dive in!

Thank you to Penguin Teen and NetGalley for providing me with an e-ARC for review! This is an honest, spoiler free review and all thoughts and feelings are my own.

WWW Wednesday (8/25/2021)

Hi everyone! It’s been a little while since I’ve done a WWW Wednesday post, but I’m back again with another reading update! This reading week has been weird to say the least. I was surprisingly busy this past weekend and somehow managed to read on both of those days, but then on other, less busy days, I barely read anything. Make it make sense!

Anyways, to get to the point, I read books this week! Yay! And here’s what I read!

Review: Devil in the Device

I managed to snag an ARC of Goddess in the Machine at YALLFest 2019 with my friend Grace and I really liked it! It was hard to get into at first with the changes in vocab and syntax from the futuristic characters, but once I got the hang of things, I was so excited for the story.

Thank you to Penguin Teen for sending me an e-ARC and a finished copy of the sequel, Devil in the Device, for review! This is a spoiler free, honest review and all thoughts and feelings are my own.

***This may contain spoilers for the first book, Goddess in the Machine. If you’ve not read the first book, feel free to check out my spoiler free review here, or proceed at your own risk!

The Quick Fire Fantasy Book Tag

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! I can’t wait for this weekend. My little sisters are heading off to college and we’re having a girls day to celebrate and get them stuff for school. It’s bittersweet, but it’s going to be a lot of fun!

To keep things short and sweet, I’m doing the quick fire fantasy book tag! I saw this tag on One Book More‘s blog and loved their responses – I couldn’t resist doing it myself!

Review: Defy the Night

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Bloomsbury YA for sending me an ARC of Defy the Night by Brigid Kemmerer!! I love Brigid’s books and when I saw this new series coming out, I HAD to request it!

This is a spoiler free, honest review and all thoughts and feelings are my own. I’m going to do my best to be coherent, but honestly, this book was just too damn good!

Aug ’21 Mid-Month Update

I’m a little late for my mid-month update, but oh well, I have some updates to share and it’s close enough!

I’ve somehow managed to be on track/a little ahead of my TBR and I’m actually shocked. I have been reading some really good books and trying to prevent myself from getting into a horrible slump, so I have been racing through certain books. Fingers crossed I can actually make it out of my TBR alive!

I am so excited to be able to participate in the blog tour for Mark of the Wicked by Georgia Bowers, hosted by TBR & Beyond Tours!

This book was everything I want in a paranormal thriller: death, doom, and destruction! I really enjoyed the story and while I wish some things were different, this review is spoiler free, so I won’t be touching on them today. But, I will share some thoughts I had while reading the book!

Fall/Winter 2021 Titles I’m Excited For!

As we enter into August, fall and winter titles are beginning to pop up and my TBR grows exponentially longer! So I decided to make a list of some of the books publishing from September – December 2021 that I am really excited for!

I tried to choose my top books, but there are so many others, especially in September and October, that I couldn’t include because I wasn’t trying to have 50+ books on this list lol So if you don’t see your favorite, it’s probably on my list, but feel free to leave a comment if you think I’ll like it!

WWW Wednesday (8/4/21)

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!

This past week, I didn’t get a lot of reading done, but I have started my August TBR and the one book I did read, and the book I’m currently reading, are so, so good! I’ve been enjoying more paranormal thrillers and I think August is going to end up a pretty spooky month for me, but we’ll see where the books take me. If you didn’t see my August TBR post, you can check it out here!

Here’s my reading update for this week!

July ’21 Wrap Up

My TBR for July was pretty ambitious. I had twelve books on there and I got through 10.5 of them! While I didn’t finish Igniting Darkness by Robin LaFevers before the end of the month, I hope to finish it soon because I love this duology! (And no, I didn’t read the original trilogy. I know! I know! I need to!)

With everything going on in my life, I’m so proud of myself for how much I read and getting through all the required reading, and even some optional read I put on the list if I had extra time, which I did! I call July a win and here’s what I read!
