WWW Wednesday (5/19/21)

Well, I moved! I’m finally moved in and while I’m still unpacking, it’s now mostly boxes and some remaining things to get in. With moving week, I did not get any reading done. I was really hoping I could get through at least one book, but no. I got about 30% in to one book, but that was it before the chaos began. Anyways, here’s a reading update for this past week!

Review: The Wolf and the Woodsman

I have been sitting in front of my computer for days trying to put into words how this book made me feel. All of my incoherent thoughts just swimming around my head and unfortunately, I have no way of getting them down nicely on paper. So, instead, here is my incoherent screaming about The Wolf and the Woodsman. Thank you so so much to Harper Voyager for the ARC!

Review: Spells Trouble

Many years ago, when I was in middle school, I was obsessed with the Marked series. I loved the storyline and the world and while I never finished the series, I got 8 books in before I ran out of books and moved on with the series. When I saw P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast were writing a new series together, I was so excited! I was lucky enough to receive an ARC from the publisher and some swag as well! (pics below!)

WWW Wednesday (5/12/21)

It’s moving week for me! I’m moving this weekend so the past few days have been very busy. Surprisingly, I’ve been able to get some reading done and so, here’s an update on what I’ve read in the past week!

WWW Wednesday’s is hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words, and all it involves is answering three simple questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

DNF Review: Sky Breaker

I will start off by saying that I liked Night Spinner. I read it over a year ago (pre-pandemic) and thought it was a really interesting book, though I had some issues with it. Unfortunately, I did not like this book as much and I actually DNFed it.

Feel free to check out my review of the first book, Night Spinner, before reading this review. May include spoilers for book one.

What I’m Currently Reading and Watching: Part VI

This week has been so stressful for me. I feel like so much is going on and there’s not enough time to get it all done, so it’s just swirling around me endlessly.

Also, I’m packing, so that’s fun. So to keep things light and to ease some of the stress, today I’m sharing what I’m currently reading and watching!

READING

I’m about 40% of the way through Sky Breaker and I’m starting Spells Trouble today, so I’m hoping I can read them quickly! Sky Breaker isn’t living up to what I wanted. I remember liking Night Spinner, the first book, but this one jumped right back in so I was very confused. And the main character went from being this strong warrior to a passive character in the first book and has now turned into a paranoid control freak. She’s kind of irritating me and I’m not enjoying this book at all. Hopefully Spells Trouble is better.

WATCHING

Shadow and Bone (TV Series 2021– ) - IMDb    Modern Family - Saison 6 La saison 6 de la série Modern Family est disponible en français sur Netfl… | Modern family, Modern family season 5, Watch modern family

I watched a few episodes of Shadow and Bone, but I want to be able to sit down and binge it, so I’m waiting until I move and things calm down. In the meantime, I have been steadily getting through Modern Family and I’m now on Season 6, almost to Season 7. This is kind of my comfort show – I tend to watch it when I’m feeling stressed and just want to distract myself from life, so I’ve been watching it a lot recently.

Besides that I also watch YouTube when I’m bored or listen to podcasts. Especially if I’m in a reading slump or not enjoying the book I’m currently reading.

What are you currently reading and watching? Any recommendations for what I should read or watch next?

Apr ’21 Wrap Up

I can’t believe I read 11 books last month! It felt like I had read nothing, but looking back, I actually got through a lot more. I basically finished my TBR last month which was surprising and awesome at the same time. I need to keep up this momentum into May!

What was your favorite book you read in April? It’s so hard to pick, but I think it would have to be a three way tie between Our Last Echoes, What’s Not to Love, and The Ones We’re Meant to Find. And These Feathered Flames is a very close second!

May ’21 TBR

Another month, another TBR! May seems to be the moving month for me and while I want to get ahead of my TBR, I need to be realistic. So this month, while I’m setting a goal to read certain books, I’m also anticipating I might read nothing. So here are some books I want to read this month and I’m going to try to get through all of them! Wish me luck.
