Review

This was such a cute read! While the beginning moved quickly, once we got into the thick of the plot, I was invested. Ellie is a bit childish at first, with her only thoughts on finding herself a hot british boyfriend, but watching her grow was so inspiring. After finding her perfect man, she slowly shifts from boy obsessed to Ellie obsessed and watching her cultivate her own interests and focusing on school made me so happy!

Once of my favorite parts about this book were Ellie’s newfound friends. After her only friend ditched for her new boyfriend, Ellie is all alone. And when she takes her friends place on the study abroad trip, she finally finds people who are genuine friends to her. Dev is so funny and a great friend towards Ellie. Sage, while almost obsessed about school, is such a kind hearted person – she genuinely wants Ellie to be happy and isn’t afraid to be honest with her. And of course Huan is so goofy and always ready to make everyone smile.

Then of course we have Will, Ellie’s new hot british boyfriend. I wasn’t a fan of the start of their relationship for a few reasons. The fact that Ellie straight up lies about her interests just to get his attention made me sad. And she skips out on school and her hobbies just to hang out with him. Coming from someone who had a boyfriend in high school, I could never imagine ditching my homework or other responsibilities just because of a boy. But the character change is what saved this book.

Overall, a really cute book that I definitely recommend if you’re looking for great character development and a cute romance! Though the beginning and ending felt rushed, the book was so easy to get into and so fun! I loved Ellie’s romantic and personal journey!
