It’s almost fall which means I have to prepare myself with all the fun fall things like tags, recommendations, and the holidays!
I saw this post on Erin @ Rins Reads blog and I thought it was so cute! Fall is my favorite season, so of course I have to do a fall time book tag to welcome in the best season of all!
crunching leaves; choose a book that has red/oranges/yellows on the cover
I don’t know if this book really gives off a fall vibe, but at least it has reds, oranges, and yellows in the cover! This would be a great series to curl up with under a warm blanket with a hot cup of tea close by. You’ll be pulled in by the magic and kept warm by the adventure. It’s great!
cozy sweater: what book gives you the warm fuzzies?
This was a book that left me feeling so warm inside. The relationship that Marit has with her adopted sister Eve is so touching it melts me every time. And the new relationships Marit fosters make me so happy. While there is a mystery going on, the chosen family and friendships just make me so happy. Plus, it’s a historical fiction novel that takes place in 19th century Denmark, and we all know historical fantasies are what keeps everyone feeling warm and happy! I will probably reread this book soon because it’s so good!
fall storm: choose a story that you like to read on a stormy day
When it’s storming, I like to watch and read scary stuff. The atmosphere is perfect for a good thriller or scary book that will leave me huddled under a blanket! While I much prefer reading horror than watching it, House of Salt and Sorrows brings a great mix of dark fantasy and horror together in such a brilliant way.
cool crisp air: what’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?
Aelin is the coolest person I know (book wise) and I would love to be her! Okay, maybe not exactly her, at least not during the events of the Throne of Glass series, but if I could be her post Kingdom of Ash, with Rowan at my side, I would be one happy girl! She’s so badass, but also so loving and loyal it’s admirable. And the fierceness she brings to every situation just leaves me a little slack jawed. She’s so cool! I also wouldn’t mind being Bryce from Crescent City either, but I think my first pick would be Aelin.
hot apply cider: what under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?
The Bone Charmer is so underrated and just not talked about in general, it’s sad. Everyone is missing out on this amazing fantasy duology! Like, I’m actually upset that besides my one friend Alexa, no one else I know has read this book. You are seriously missing out!!
Another book, because I have to add two, would be Thorn! This Goose Girl retelling is creative, funny, and just so good! If you haven’t read either of these books, you really should consider adding them to your TBR, like, right now. They’re two of my favorite books!
coat, scarves & mittens: what’s a book cover that you don’t like/want to cover up in public?
Yeah, I’m not going to sugar coat it – I hate these covers. And I especially hate this one in particular because 1) shouldn’t ACOTAR have the mask? Since everyone had them stuck on their faces due to Amarantha’s magic? 2) why why WHY would anyone put orange and grey together? Like why?? and 3) I just like the old covers better. Now, I get why they were changed and I think recategorizing them as adult fiction was smart, but jeez why did they have to redesign the covers to THIS!?
pumpkin spice: what’s your fall time comfort food?
Ohh, I’m going to put down two – 1) I love hot apple cider and whiskey, like together. It may seem gross or weird (though it’s really not) but hot apple cider and fireball is amazing. You want an alcoholic cinnamon apple drink? Now you have one! And 2) Soup. Just any soup. I love soup and eating it in the summer is just too hot for me, so winter time I get to eat all the soup I want without overheating or feeling gross! Plus, they’re easy to make or buy and I don’t have to spend a lot of time cooking.
I’m going to tag Alexa @ Writing the Universe to do this tag, but if you decide to do it, please tag me so I can see it!
I have a Ko-fi account! If you like my content and want to help me fund my own domain or just wants to send me a gift, I’ve linked it here! Thanks to anyone who checks it out!
Ohhh 10/10 agree on soup being peak fall. I love chicken noodle soup and will forever (: Also, the ACOSF cover is SO gross. Like okay…(confession) I don’t hate the new covers, but the orange and gray are not it!!
